Florida Wedding Challenges

Southwest Florida has a wide variety of challenges to consider when planning a wedding….especially an out-of- doors wedding. This is why our season typically runs between October through May. Let’s face it, sweat happens in June, July, August, and September. While we ARE open those months, and offer a significant discount, these months are typically warmer, buggier, and more prone to rain events. The two months I call the ‘Goldilocks’ months are November and March…. not too hot, not too cold.
Things to consider are: style of dress, casual versus formal ceremony and reception, footwear!, time of day, and so many more. Many times the choices are daunting! Start with your vision, then make a list of pros and cons. For example: Beach wedding Pros: everyone loves the beach! Those sunsets! Being able to say ‘I do” while standing in pristine white sand. Cons: Logistics! Do you need a permit? Chairs? Where will the reception be? How do you advise folks not to wear high heels? Blowing sand! The guy in the Speedo who absolutely should NOT be in that particular form of bathing suit who will probably end up photo-bombing your moment! Those pesky biting midges (no-seeums), what happens if it rains? Do the same with any venue type you are leaning towards…. are you DIY? Budget? Do you want options, or do you want to have the venue take care of everything? These are all very important aspects to whittle down prior to going to look at venues.
